When PINK MOUNTAINTOPS were in Vienna, Austria last May they played an acoustic session in the venue bar before their show at Arena. Viennese blog They Shoot Music Don't They was on hand to record the impromptu performance that included “Vampire," “Plastic Man, You’re The Devil” and “Leslie.”







Pink Mountaintops are long since back from Europe and are apparently well rested. On top of just completing their second US tour behind "Outside Love," the band will be heading out yet again on a stateside tour that includes select dates with label mates Dinosaur Jr.

Outside Love has birthed yet another video. This time it's for "Execution" and features some stand ins who...well... just see for yourself. Watch below:

It turns out that Beck featured "Can You Do That Dance?" from PINK MOUNTAINTOPS' self titled debut on his "Planned Obsolescence" DJ mix series.

Beck describes the mix, entitled "Autobahn Hologram" in total Beck fashion: "[Autobahn Hologram is] a laminated miasma colliding on the bavarian trans expressway with american analog and voicemail emeritus... alabama nukes, rhineland jukes, pony tailed arch dukes, and the anatomically correct scapegoat..."

Just yesterday, the Polaris Music Prize announced their initial long list of the 40 albums, by Canadian bands, nominated to win the 2009 prize and "Outside Love" is among them. The list will be shortened to 10 bands on July 7th who will be up for the $20,000 prize. The winner will be announced on September 21st in Toronto.
